(NOV 3) PROVIDENCE, R.I.  Last night on the “The Connecticut Classic,” card presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports, at the Foxwoods Resort, in Mashantucket, Connecticut,  Shelito Vincent, of New London fought Canadian Alisah McPhee in a six-round bout.

In what was one of the most exciting bouts of the evening, Vincent, 123 lbs., 10-0 (1KO) won by a fourth round TKO [0:52] over McPhee, 118, now 2-1. Vincent remains undefeated with a 10-0 record adding a first time KO to that record.

The NewEngland.Net reported that Vincent was able to get over her hump and score her first KO on her professional boxing record. They said, “McPhee showed some decent heart herself, but she was not ready for the heavy volume of punches to the body and head that Vincent was able to connect throughout the short fight.”

WBAN spoke to Vincent after her fight with McPhee and asked Vincent where she goes from here after this win last night:

Vincent told WBAN, “I’m actually sitting down with team this week to discuss what’s next… I’m ready to go whenever they pull the trigger…”

We asked about her opponent McPhee:  Vincent said, “She is a strong girl… She kept throwing… I didn’t know much on her… Just she was undefeated as a am an pro… An she was coming to fight… An that she just beat the national champ over there… Heard she was tough… ”

Lastly, WBAN HAD to ask Vincent who was on her “Hit” list!

Vincent responded, “Man,  I’ll fight whoever if the price is right… But EVERYONE knows I want HARDY!!!!!  Her “0” can be the next to go…. She knows I would DESTROY her though… I would duck me too…Me an her could sell out an arena together… GREAT fight for women’s boxing.  Paz vs. Haugen,  a female boxing one, as one reporter said it!” .

Background on McPhee: McPhee, a full-time elementary school teacher in British Columbia, made her United States debut against Vincent last night.  She was undefeated as an amateur, McPhee made her debut in December against former Canadian National Team member and two-time bronze medalist Jaime Ward and beat her by split decision in a five-round bout. This was Vincent’s first fight since May when she beat Angel Gladney by unanimous decision to capture the vacant Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) International title.
