Linda Platt one of the early female boxing photographers in the country

Linda Platt is one of the first, if not the first, female boxing photographers in the country and possible internationally. She covered boxing from December 1979 through late August 1989.

Her work has appeared on Entertainment Tonight. She photographed boxing matches for  UPI, Reuters and AP.

Her photos were published twice in Sports Illustrated, with her having a weekly boxing column in the Las Vegas Mirror and was their photographer until leaving Las Vegas in late 1989.

Platt has contributed and had many covers for Japan World Boxing, Guantes Magazine and Hank Kaplan’s Boxing Digest, and one Ring cover.  She had one photo was published in the New York Times, another one in Rolling Stone Magazine.

She also worked as Guantes Boxing Magazine’s photographer of the year 1983-1986.

She was named photographer of the year in Boxing Beat/Top Rank 1985.

Many of her boxer photos were made into television ads for NBC sports.
