Austin’s Favorite – “The Assassin” Zamarron Two round Exhibitions
(May 18) Last night, many Austin boxing fans watched with interest the two consecutive two-round exhibition bouts of Anissa “The Assassin” Zamarron. As a World Champion in 1998, she became an Austin favorite, and everyone was happy to see her back in the ring after a two-year layoff. The first bout with inexperienced Isabel Manyseng was fast moving without much domination by either boxer. The second bout featured Maribel Zurita, who came in much improved over her appearance in Austin last year. Maybe the veteran Zamarron was a little rusty after her long layoff, but Zurita gave her all she could handle in an exciting two rounds of exhibition boxing!
