Wanda Countiss Biography

Wanda Countiss was born and raised in the Washington, DC area.  She attended and graduated Gwynn Park Senior High where she was Senior Class President.  Wanda was taught by her village at a young age to be a strong Afro American female.   She presently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her true loves; Godfrey, Ralphfelle and her adorable first grand baby, Rain. Sole.

Wanda’s  initial experiences as an entrepreneur were in Fashion Design and Cosmetology.  She later operated and owned a beauty salon for twenty years.  She was blessed with a clientele that saw her potential and encouraged Wanda to pursue her dreams.  It was at that point that she decided to go after her career goals in female boxing.

In 2002, Wanda started an organization called “Diva’s in the Ring”.  Learning from some of the best in promotions, in 2004 she decided to have her first All-Female Boxing Match in Washington, DC starring Asa Sandel from Switzerland. One year later, in 2005, she was asked to become the Matchmaker and Production Manager for  “A Ring of Their Own”.

In 2010, Wanda developed an all-female boxing program for the Board of Education in Washington DC for behaviorally challenged females.   The program was designed to teach them how to achieve their goals through boxing, education and self-respect.

From 2012 to present, she has worked as a Standardized Patient and Educator for Howard University,  Miami University and the University of Vermont.

At 55 years of age Wanda decided to go back to school and get a degree in Broadcasting.
